Campground food options

For a care-free stay on Cockatoo Island, the Harbour Trust offers a range of convenient meal options for campers and other accommodation guests. 

Waterfront cafés 

For catered dining, head to Societe Overboard, just a short stroll from the ferry wharf, or journey through Dog Leg Tunnel to arrive at the Marina Café and Bar. These family-friendly venues are both licensed to serve alcohol.

Campground kitchen

The campground kitchen offers campers a range of sheltered facilities exclusively for their use. These include barbeques, boiling water, fridges, a coffee maker, microwaves, a vending machine and seating for up to 50 people.

BBQ packs (pre-order required)

A range of meal and barbeque packs are available for campers and other accommodation guests to order prior to arrival.

Orders for meal and barbeque packs must be placed at least 48 hrs prior to arrival. Orders can be made at the time of booking your accommodation online (see: optional extras section of the booking process). If you have already made an accommodation booking and would like to add a meal or barbeque pack to your reservation, please email us at stay@cockatooisland.gov.au and we can assist.

Youfoodz (pre-order required)

From 1 December, a selection of fresh Youfoodz meals will be available for campers and other accommodation guests.  Unlike frozen meals, Youfoodz meals are supplied fresh to the island, and are ready to enjoy following two minutes in a microwave. The following Youfoodz meals (1 serving each) will be available on Cockatoo Island from 1 December:

  • Creamy steak and mushroom ($14.50 each): Tender, well-done beef with a rich, chunky mushie gravy, crunchy green beans, and creamy potato mash.
  • Beef lasagne ($14.50 each): Lean, top-quality mince in rich bolognese sauce, layered between sheets of fresh pasta with a creamy bechamel and cheese top.
  • Butter chicken ($14.50 each): A rich blend of Indian spices and toasted almonds in a thick coconut sauce, combined with pieces of chicken breast cooked to absolute perfection. Served with brown rice and a soft, pull-apart naan bread.
  • Honey mustard chicken ($14.50 each): Tender chicken breast, fresh broccoli, and peppery pumpkin mash served with a sweet-but-sharp honey mustard sauce.
  • Creamy mushroom cannelloni ($14.50 each): A tasty spinach and ricotta filling, wrapped in al-dente pasta and covered in a creamy mushy sauce. Served with a healthy helping of broccoli.

Orders for Youfoodz meals must be placed at least 10 days prior to arrival. Orders can be made at the time of booking your accommodation online (see: optional extras section of the booking process).
